Wall-hugger theater seating: compare actual clearance requirements
Published 2026-09-21 · measurement-first, no hands-on claims — see the method.
A wall-hugger label does not provide the measurement needed for installation. Ask for the required gap behind the installed seat throughout its recline movement.
Published model clearances checked October 19
| Model | Recorded rear-wall clearance | Source entry |
|---|---|---|
| Seatcraft Sienna | 3″ | source |
| Seatcraft Grenada | 3″ | source |
| Seatcraft Monterey CoolZero | 3.5″ | source |
| Seatcraft Serenity | 6.5″ | source |
| Seatcraft Anthem | 6.5″ | source |
| Five cataloged Octane models: Turbo, Blaze, Storm, Magnum, Dynamo | 4″ | example |
| Valencia entries | needs checking | source status |
These are model-source statements, not a claim about every model made by each brand. Confirm that the clearance applies to the exact arrangement and options being ordered.
Apply the number to the whole layout
Plan the required gap behind the seat in its installed position. Do not move the seat against the wall while upright and assume that the gap is needed only after reclining. Check fully reclined depth, obstacles, operating space and aisles separately.
If a number is missing or unconfirmed, get the seller’s answer before ordering. Also run the doorway checklist. This catalog has no automatic specification update feed; each source check carries its own date.
