White-glove vs. curbside delivery: what to confirm before ordering
Published 2026-09-21 · measurement-first, no hands-on claims — see the method.
Delivery labels do not establish the service included in your order. Ask the retailer for the exact service description and total price for your address before paying.
Questions for each quoted service
- Where does curbside service leave the shipment? Is threshold delivery a separate tier?
- Does the quote include carrying each piece into the named room?
- Which stairs, flights and tight turns are included? What adds a charge?
- Does the team attach backs, join seats and position the complete row?
- Will the carrier remove pallets, packaging or old furniture? Ask about each separately.
- What appointment, missed-delivery and redelivery conditions apply?
- How should you inspect and report damage? Obtain the claim deadlines in writing.
- What happens if a boxed piece cannot reach the room? Confirm return and restocking terms.

Use the doorway checklist to describe your route to the retailer and delivery provider. Ask them to confirm the proposed service against those measurements. Do not assume the same label means the same service at different retailers.
Historical delivery notes in the catalog state their capture date. They are not current fee, stock, dispatch or carry-in promises. Current order terms must come from the seller and carrier.
